Bellingham Village


Bellingham, pronounced "Bellinjum", stands on the north tyne river and on the edge of the Northumberland National park.
There is a good range of shops and services as well three pubs, a hotel, two schools and three churches.
In the village, sports facilities include an 18 hole golf course. There is also a swimming pool and sauna at a local hotel.
The village also has a Heritage centre which will tell you all about the history of Bellingham and surrounding areas. The tourist information centre is located in the same building.
Hareshaw Linn is a beautiful nature trail, which is a 2 hour walk, which culminates in a spectacular 10 metre waterfall. The trail begins near the campsite entrance.
Various other riverside walks and sections of the Pennine way can be walked from the village, St Cuthbert's Church in Bellingham is a 13th Centuary Church with a unique stone roof and famous long pack tomb.
