Rock Climbing

Callerhues Crag is on the south end of Corsenside Common and is only ten minutes from the campsite. The rock is Fell Sandstone. The majority of the routes are of a bouldering nature. There are over 50 routes on the crag between the grades of VS and E5. The great Whin sill escarpment on Hadrian's Wall is approximately 30 minutes drive from the campsite. The rock is dolerite. There are two crags. The most easterly is Crag Lough, which has been over a 100 recorded routes. Peel Crag has over eighty routes. On both crags, the best routes are in the lower/middle grades.
